ED씰ED Seal
A static seal fitted alongside a threaded connection. Where threads alone cannot fully seal a fitting or port joint, the ED seal backs up the primary seal to prevent leakage — mainly stocked in NBR.
What Is an ED Seal?
An ED Seal is a composite-section seal that combines the functions of an O-ring and a back-up ring in one part, resisting extrusion under high pressure without needing a separate back-up ring. It is used for dynamic and static sealing in high-pressure hydraulic systems.
Principle & Structure
When a hydraulic or pneumatic fitting or port is joined by threads alone, the fine clearance within the thread engagement often cannot guarantee a complete seal. The ED seal is fitted alongside the joint as a static seal that backs up that gap, helping maintain reliable sealing even where vibration or pressure fluctuation is present.
